About Us

Secure Futures was established in 2012 by Jessica Mercer as a result of an identified need for risk reduction programmes with increased impact at the local and national levels. There continues to be an over focus upon humanitarian response at the expense of initiating risk reduction action prior to an event occurring. In addition, with new challenges and future uncertainty in terms of climate change impacts it is increasingly important to ensure the long term sustainability of any intervention.

Secure Futures recognises the need to work closely with a wide range of stakeholders from the very local level through to national level policy makers in order to reach acceptable, agreed upon solutions to reduce existing and future risk. Reducing community risk is at the central core of Secure Future’s ambition.
